Elysia tomentosa is characterized by a long ridge between the parapodia
(renopericardial ridge) with many vessels. The parapodia have a pale margin, there is in some specimens a thin black submarginal line.
Elysia tomentosa is very well camouflaged.
This species group (there are many similar species lumped under this name) needs a DNA based revision.
