'Montereina' coerulescens is characterized by its mottled whitish-tan mantle with irregular greyish patches.
It has elevated rhinophoral sheaths, and yellowish-tan rhinophores. Distinctive are minute opaque white spots at the
mantle margin. The gills are translucent or translucent tan, (in this picture and in 6 out of 9 pictures at the internet are the gills
retracted).
It is also known as Discodoris coerulescens Bergh, 1888
I place it in the genus "Montereina" according to:
Dayrat, B. 2010. A Monographic Revision of Basal Discodorid Sea Slugs (Mollusca: Gastropoda: Nudibranchia:
Doridina). Proceedings of the California Academy of Sciences 61, suppl I: 1-403.
