Aegires minor is characterized by the pattern of black lines on the yellow mantle. Here are 2 specimens feeding on the calcareous sponge Pericharax heteroraphis, this shot shows 2 speciemens mating upon their food sponge.
Pretty similar is Aegires gardineri which has black mottling rather than distinct lines and spots on the yellow body.
It was first placed in the genus Notodoris. I'm following the recent paper: Fahey S.J. & T.M. Gosliner. 2004. A Phylogenetic Analysis of the Aegiridae Fischer, 1883 (Mollusca, Nudibranchia, Phanerobranchia) with Descriptions of Eight New Species and a Reassessment of Phanerobranch Relationships. Proceedings of the California Academy of Sciences 55 (34): 613-689, 82 figs., 4 tables.
and place the genus Notodoris into Aegires.
