Phyllodesmium poindimiei (Risbec, 1928) [Aeolidia]

Phyllodesmium poindimiei is characterized by a slender, elongate translucent pink body. The cerata are cylindrical, smooth and curved near the tips.
The digestive gland ducts extend to the very apex of each ceras and have simple branches. Each duct and its branches is typically orange at the base, becoming yellow near the tip. There is usually a blue iridescence subapically on the cerata, rhinophores and oral tentacles.
There are opaque white spots on body, cerata, rhinophores and oral tentacles.
Phyllodesmium poindimiei feeds on the octocoral
Carijoa sp.
Many other members of the genus Phyllodesmium are what Bill Rudman calls
"Solar-powered Sea Slugs",
Phyllodesmium poindimiei is not one of them.
Pretty similar is Phyllodesmium cf. poindimiei which lacks the white spots on the body and has deep pink digestive gland ducts.
