Flabellina sp. 04 is characterized by its translucent orange body and cerata colour.
It has purplish-red longitudinal lines on its body, one on the centre of its back and one at each
side of the body just below the cerata. The smooth rhinophores are basally translucent orange, followed
by a broad opaque white band, subapical is a broad purple band, the apices are translucent.
The oral tentacles are basally translucent orange diffusing into purple, the tips are white. The
cerata are translucent orange with a purple band subapical, the apices are whitish, in some
specimens yellow.
It looks pretty similar to Flabellina sp. 2 in
Gosliner, Terrence M., David W. Behrens & Ángel Valdés. 2008. Indo-Pacific Nudibranchs and Sea Slugs.
Sea Challengers Natural History Books.
Gig Harbor, Washington. 426pp. at page 350, which differs by the colour pattern of the rhinophores, it lacks the
broad opaque white band.
Pretty similar are:
Flabellina cf. rubrolineata which lacks the broad opaque white band at the rhinophores.
Flabellina rubrolineata which has papillate rhinophores.
