Cerberilla cf. albopunctata has a characteristic colour pattern: The body and the foot are black/dark brown, with opaque white spots of different sizes scattered over the body, foot, cerata, and oral tentacles. It has two kinds of cerata: The median cerata are longer and paler than the lateral cerata, all of them are basal brownish with white spots. Near the apex of the cerata is a yellowish-orange band, followed by a thin bown line, the apex is whitish-blue. The short rhinophores are maroon with a white tip, basal translucent. The long oral tentacles are black/dark brown with some white spots and a whitish tip. Between the oral tentacles is an orange patch on the head. Almost all other species of the genus Cerberilla have a white or translucent white foot, so the black/dark brown foot with white spots is distinctive. Cerberilla cf. albopunctata differs from Cerberilla albopunctata by the oral tentacles, which are spectacularly coloured in Cerberilla albopunctata with bright yellow, blue, dark brown and white bands.
