Pretty similar is Berghia major in which the cerata are curved and flattened, often with blue and yellow markings, and it usually lacks the white patches on the body. Berghia salaamica was originally placed by William B. Rudman in the genus Spurilla, I follow IPN which places it because of the papillate rhinophores in the genus Berghia: Gosliner, Terrence M., David W. Behrens & Ángel Valdés. 2008. Indo-Pacific Nudibranchs and Sea Slugs. Sea Challengers Natural History Books. Gig Harbor, Washington. 426pp. at page 403 More informations on Berghia salaamica are at Bill Rudman's Sea-Slug Forum! |
