Euselenops luniceps is characterised by its flattened, broad rounded shape, and large oral veil, fringed with sensory papillae. Its mantle is pale brown covered with many dark brown spots. It usually lives in the sand and has some modifications for this: at the posterior end the mantle folds into a relatively long siphon or tube, which allows the mantle cavity and gills to remain in contact with fresh seawater while burrowing through the sand.
