Dendrodoris tuberculosa can be distinguished from Dendrodoris
carbunculosa (which looks pretty similar) by the tubercules which
are packed close together and are often compound. In Dendrodoris carbunculosa
are the large individual tubercules separated by smooth sections of
the mantle, each tubercle is surrounded by a ring of small semispherical
bumps.
