Philine rubrata is an elongate, flattened species, its translucent orange body is covered with darker orange-red flecks.
It has an internal shell with a broad aperture and fine spiral striae that are not punctate.
Reported lengths:
IPN : 5 mm, Sea-Slugs of Hawaii: 3 mm - 3,5 mm,
Mediterranean Slug Site: pictures from Japan 5mm and 6 mm,
this 7 mm specimen is very large! |
