Lamprohaminoea cymbalum is characterised by the bright orange spots and diffuse purple markings on the translucent greenish body. In some specimen either the orange or purple may be absent but animals are usually clearly identifiable. Lamprohaminoea cymbalum feeds on algae. In many books and websites it is placed in the genus Haminoea, it was also originally posted on these pages as Haminoea cymbalum. I follow Eddie Hardy , and
"Fauna Sinica, Phylum Mollusca, Class Gastropoda, Subclass: Opisthobraqnchi, Order Cephalaspidea by Lin Gunangyu, Beijing, China, 1997" and move it to the genus Lamprohaminoea.
Pretty similar is Haminoea ovalis which has black spots and/or markings. In general Lamprohaminoea cymbalum looks rather pale, while Haminoea ovalis looks dark.
This shot shows the tip of my left thumb, so you can see how small this specimen is.
