It was originally posted at these websites as Phyllaplysia lafonti (Fischer P., 1870) [Dolabrifera], IPN places it at page 60 in the genus Petalifera, with the authority (Fischer, 1870): Gosliner, Terrence M., David W. Behrens & Ángel Valdés. 2008. Indo-Pacific Nudibranchs and Sea Slugs. Sea Challengers Natural History Books. Gig Harbor, Washington. 426pp. I changed the genus into Petalifera because of IPN and kept the authority (Fischer, 1870) because of: Annotated Check-List of Mediterranean Marine Mollusks, Bruno Sabelli, Riccardo Gianuzzi-Savelli and Daniele Bedulli, Società Italiana di Malacologia, Editioni Libreria Naturalistica Bolognese, 1990 I changed it again on 17 November 2011 into Phyllaplysia lafonti Fischer, P., 1872 because CLEMAM (Check List of European MArine Mollusca), gives the authority to Fischer P. 1872 , and does not mention "Fischer P., 1870", I follow with this WoRMS (World Register of Marine Species). I think at least with the authority is IPN wrong. I don't know by whom and when it was moved to Petalifera. Phyllaplysia lafonti is the type species of the genus Phyllaplysia.
