Phyllodesmium poindimiei is characterised by translucent white cerata with some white spots. There are deep pink branching digestive gland ducts in the cerata. The body is translucent white with some white spots. Phyllodesmium poindimiei feeds on soft corals of the genus Telesto. Many other members of the genus Phyllodesmium are what Bill Rudman calls "Solar-powered Sea Slugs", Phyllodesmium poindimiei is not one of them.
